The illustrations are beautiful and my goddaughter loves to make up her own stories to the pictures. I'd definitely purchase this book again.
Such beautiful pictures, and a sweet story. A book long overdue for children of color or diverse backgrounds, but a great choice for any child.

not enough black princesses for little girls i got this for my niece and i absolutely love it...great for little girls to be able to identify with the characters in the story...and its awesome that the setting is in Africa
When I was a kid, I would always check this book out from the library. The illustrations we're what stuck with me over the years, and I'm so happy to own my own copy now as an adult.
