This could have been great but it was kind of all over the place. The plot jumped around a lot. The characters had almost no development and jumped right into loving one another. I STILL don't get what happened with Redemption at the end. Overall, I think this could be a great start to a new series but the author needs to go back and develop the plotline a lot more.

Hell is a Harem Book 1 eBook Kim Faulks Jacqueline Sweet Reviews

Kim Faulks has a brilliance in the genre of romance, particularly RH. She spins her tale, bringing you to the edge of your seat. Hell is a Harem is no different. I was sucked into her world and never wanted to leave. The concept of one of Hell's daughters is a common theme lurking about, much like the Four Horsemen I'd the Apocalypse. No one dose it better than Faulks. Be prepared though, like many of her best books, this is a slow to medium burn, because the story us so complex and well done that HIAH doesn't require mass amounts is sex to prop up the book.

The Book Nerd loves this series with a Hellfire of reader adoration!
5 Morningstar out of 5
This was a fantastic read. Loved the way the author did the reverse harem. I t was written as an underscore of the plot not the main theme. And it was done of love, not just a girl being a easy. The action was action packed and kept moving. It only slowed so the reader could catch their breath, then on to the next page. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
And what a harem it is, a human, a hellhound & an archangel, yummy. Wow, so much fun in this new series and we're just getting started. Lorn has one heck of legacy to live up to and she's gone her entire life not knowing who her father was. In this book we get the beginning of the story with the ending almost a cli0ffhanger and this was so good you can't help but want the next one.
Kim Faulks has really given us a smart and sassy Hunter. Lorn Payne is a demon hunter, working for the Circle. But the Circle is not paying Lorns bounties at a high enough rate to pay her rent. She runs into Titus, a very nice looking police Inspector, then the stunningly beautiful Arch Angel Gabrial and a hot as hell, Hellhound called Rival. And she has the sweaty hots for all of them. You will say, "No way in Hell, will she believe who her father is"! Get this book before it's gone!!
This is way more that a paltry 5-star rating! This story has everything - action (violence), magic, lots of - nice variety too - of supernaturals, romance - a reverse harem - slow to peak and what a great group of guys! - bad guys, good guys, TENSION, and more. The stage is set, the first act is completed by the end of the book (not a cliffhanger) but there is much more to come. Can't wait to see the baddies get theirs!! But book 2 won't be here till late June - sad but true. Try this story - you will love it!
I enjoyed the blurb for this book but I found the story to be a bit choppy and disjointed. In this dark, anti-hero story, Lorn is a snarky, rude heroine which makes her hard to like or sympathize with. The romance (if you can call it that) seems to come out of nowhere, especially the connection to Rival, the hellhound. He seems to suddenly be in the story line and just as quickly, Lorn is in love with him. The relationship with Titus is weird, and I completely don't get what's going on with Gabriel. Maybe it will make sense in book 2, but there seems to be too many plot holes this far into a plot, I just don't feel this is the story for me. Interesting writing style, though. It reminds me of Rue Volley's blunt style, so this may appeal to her fans.
I really enjoyed Lorn's character. All too often we see submissive women in RH stories - but Lorn is not the case at all. While she is powerful and full of dark magic she has strong morals and has a deep sense of conviction. I also love her internal insecurities - the moment where she admits silently to Titus that she can't afford food is very humbling.
A very powerful scene there.

The downside(s)...
The romance between Lorn and Titus has a complete 180 spin. He goes from being scared and seemingly uninterested to being completely and utterly committed in the next big scene. I felt a little whiplash and thought it could have been drawn out a bit.
The other issue I have is that Titus is a human and yet she keeps writing about him and his human bullets that do literally nothing against the beings they fight. And the author keeps writing him in dire situations where a human has no reason to be. How is a human going to fight a supe? They don't. I really wish Ms Faulks had made him a half supe or something... anything other than just dinner to the supes.
And I really loved how bada$$ Rival was in the beginning - BUT then he becomes a beta to the human Titus!! Titus, the human, is all of a sudden calling the shots and giving orders! All of a sudden he whines and becomes a scaredy cat - afraid of everything, even cellars. What happened to the Alpha hellhound??

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the writing. I'm just feeling whiplash by a few things.
I will say this story is very engaging and complex as there are a lot of different characters at play here. I will continue to read the series because I really love Lorn's character.
